PRICKED NEST 2005

Composed of pottery elements handturned on the artist' s wheel, while searching for a strong composition with ritmical lines. Using a mould, a thin porselain film was strained and pierced when still wet. This rendered the inside of the sculpture it's own structure. With the right illumination angle it get's a special dimension. The combination adds grandure and vulnerability to the piece of art.

CRADLE 2005

PRICKED NUT 2005

Interactie met de toeschouwer vind ik leuk

en daarom bedacht ik een ontwerp dat in beweging kan komen wanneer een nieuwsgierige kijker nadert. Het is een compositie van kleibanden die niet parallel naast elkaar staan. De cirkelvormige onderdelen staan aan de bovenkant van het sculptuur dichter bij elkaar dan aan de onderkant. Het keramisch stuk gaat bij lichte aanraking wiegen maar rolt niet door.  Ook een houten vloer onder het beeld kan, door  trilling, ervoor zorgen dat de kinetische energie in het werk terecht komt. Grappig dat een voorbijganger zich verbaast en schrikt terwijl hijzelf er de oorzaak van is dat de beweging op gang gekomen is.

MUSCADEL WITHOUT KERNELS 2005

The porcelain tubs are cast of grapes pierced with darning and knitting needles. The grape seeds have become a composition of hundreds of punctures.
